Haven't been here in a while but still rock solid. The Ding's Crispy Chicken Sandwich is my new fave and the Asian Noodle Salad to share. Great meal and the service and ambiance are always top notch.
The restaurant is very nice and the staff is extremely nice and really made us feel comfortable , from the Hostess to the servers! The food was excellent and fresh! My friend ordered the sol and I had the Dixie crispy chicken sandwich, which was so yummy and enough to bring a section home and have a Mini snack the next day! I recommend this place and we did arrive about 4:30ish and it was not crowded! As the sun was setting the shades would come down to avoid any issues with conversations. Really enjoyed the whole experience!
R + D is so good that it's become a regular spot for my friend and I. We have a monthly dinner calendared (and often go even more than 1x a month) to indulge in our favorite menu items. Food: I have not tried one thing on the menu that I haven't liked! Classic favorites are the crispy chicken sandwich. The thin, crispy chicken filet makes for the perfect bite. The kale coleslaw really brings it together. Another notable menu item is the Asian chicken noodle salad. And I never, ever pass on a side of fries. The carrot cake is an absolute must try - pro tip: order at the beginning of your meal to bring out later (It will sell out!). My drink of choice is the bees knees. Just sweet enough, especially if you like gin. Service: always impeccable. The staff at R + D is always so elevated, so helpful, and really bring the dining experience to the next level. I never have any complaints. The vibe: feels like I am tucked away in an intimate old time restaurant. Absolutely adore it. So much so that I am hesitant to review, I want to keep this place all to myself!!
My favorite place to eat at Fashion Island. I love the French Dip Sandwich. The bread is excellent and meat is juicy and tender. Great horse radish spread. The other sandwich are great too including the chicken sandwich. Downside - sandwich are a la carte so it doesn't come with a side. For a $25 sandwich, you'd think they would give you a side of French fries, but no. Not here!
Popped in during late lunch Sunday afternoon around 2pm. Wanted a quick bite at the bar and we ordered some sides and a salad to share. Their classic margarita is refreshing and perfect to sip on. Loved the deviled eggs, easily could have had a second serving. We didn't realized the chicken meatballs came with polenta, so we didn't need to order a whole side of it, but it was great. The Newporter Salad was light, crisp and tasty. Our bartender was attentive, quick and nice, sitting at the bar is a good move if there is ever a wait. They have a good patio for seating if you plan on dining outside the bar. Will easily be back
Food - as my experience has been similar as I have gone to my go to. Tuna tartare and Dip Duo. Service - always top notch and on point! Ambience - cozy classy casual Verdict - YES!
